Michael Edwards, D.O., is the Chief Medical Officer for Coastal Health Primary Care. He is responsible for the administrative and physician leadership in providing patients with a high caliber of medical care. Dr. Edwards also serves Coastal Health providers and staff through communicating policies and regulations for safety, medical treatments and quality improvements. 

He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania where he was a member of the Villanova University football team. Dr. Edwards then completed his residency at the St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency Program in Jacksonville, Florida.

Prior to joining Coastal Health, Dr. Edwards practiced locally with a family care group in Orange Park, where he provided complete medical care for patients of all ages. He is board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Practitioners.

Dr. Edwards is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Dr. Edwards is local to Jacksonville and has been practicing in the community since 2005. He has been married to his wife, Amy, since 2002.
