Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Barbara Trunzo (formerly Forester) is a board-certified advanced registered nurse practitioner, with extensive experience in family medicine. Alongside her work at Coastal Health, she is a preceptor for graduate students with University of North Florida’s Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program in Jacksonville.
Additionally, Trunzo serves her country as captain in the U.S. Navy and as the Director for Health Services Headquarters Unit for the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville. Prior to Coastal Health, she was also a local pediatric nurse practitioner and in charge of local military clinics.
Trunzo received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University in Tallahassee and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She holds certifications in pediatric advanced life support, advanced life support, basic life support and immunization. She is a member of the Naval Reserve Association, Women in Military Service and the National Honor Society for Nursing.
