Ashlan Whitaker, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who brings a strong foundation of clinical nursing experience to her practice at Coastal Health. She is passionate about delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care across the lifespan and is dedicated to empowering patients through education and collaboration. 

Ashlan earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a concentration in Family Medicine from Jacksonville University, where she graduated with multiple honors, including induction into Sigma Theta Tau, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and magna cum laude distinction. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University. 

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Ashlan worked as a registered nurse in the Coronary Care Unit at UF Health Jacksonville, where she cared for critically ill patients with complex cardiac conditions. In this role, she gained extensive experience in cardiac monitoring, advanced life support, and intensive care management, as well as serving as a preceptor and charge nurse. 

Throughout her clinical training, Ashlan completed rotations in primary care, pediatrics, internal medicine, and hospital medicine, developing expertise in both acute and chronic disease management. Her doctoral research focused on improving patient-provider communication through innovative quality improvement strategies.
